I will be honest and say:
I am the writer who hated English.
I can't diagram a sentence to save me.
I am a dreamer, storyteller and plotter.
I'm a romantic, and love adventure.
I enjoy being around people but could easily be a hermit;
as long as I have something to write. I am better
expressing myself through writing and hope you enjoy what I write.

So here's the details about me:
I was blessed with and good husband and five children. For a lot of years, my writing had to take the backseat to them, but it wasn't a bad exchange. I have great kids. My oldest, a girl, has an amazing voice and the stage presence to match. Next, a son, makes me smile. He's one of those rare people that makes others happy. People love to be around him. My middle daughter is a lot like me. She's a writer too. She actually wrote two books while in high school. I don't doubt you will see her published in the future. My second son is my tower of strength. He looks like he could be a hero in one of my books and has been. (All my kids have had parts in my stories.) My last one, a girl, she's my friend and hopes to be a pastry chef one day.
I also have eleven grandchildren. They are the best generation.
My husband was a man of honor. He used to travel a lot with his work. So when we'd watch movies, he was forever saying, "I've been there." He'd traveled to over forty countries. I can only claim in the thirties, not bad though for a girl from a small town in Wyoming. We loved to travel together. We'd do power trips. That's going, going, going. I can say I spent a week in Florida and didn't even get a tan because the only time I got to sit at the pool, it was dark. Our last trip together was to China, Cambodia and Thailand, where I got started writing My Spy.
We also enjoyed hiking, camping, canoeing and fishing. My kids used to say, "Mom catches the most and the biggest." I used that along with my love of softball in Kare for Me. Things that are part of my life that I enjoy, such as playing sports pop up in all my books. I love volleyball, it's in Letting Love Win. Soccer shows up in Beauty and the Chief.
I'm sad to say my husband passed away the end of 2015. Though I never thought of myself becoming a widow, especially at my age but widowhood has not harmed my desire for love, romance and adventure. If anything has made it stronger because I had what makes me happy.
My old writing partners were: A yellow lab named Risty, who was a wonderful companion, bumping my elbow while writing to let me know she was there. She was a great help raising my children and has played a role in several books. Look for her in Beauty and the Chief. The dog is named Abby, after Risty's mother and the name my new lab. Risty also helped me in Blind Witness when I would take walks around the neighborhood with my eyes closed to see how handled it. An interesting experience, fortunately for me, when I got home or if I got into trouble, I could open my eyes. Also, look for Risty to make an appearance in The Water Witch, one of the books I'm working on. Kie Kie, my cat, was totally spoiled by me. She hasn't figured in a book as herself yet, but rest assured one day she will. Her alter-ego does come out in Mindbound as Kei, the Tam Cat, (imagine a huge tiger, white with silver strips).
Other things the pop up in my books from my life are:
Painting shows up in My Lady, Beauty and the Chief, Olympus Game, and Water Witch. Hiking and the outdoors are in Survive the Night, Past to Die For, Whistleblower, The Governess, and play a big part in Her Brand of Trouble. Growing up I spent a lot of time in the outdoors with my parents, and though I'm a fair shot, I prefer using a camera over a gun. Although, taking my son on his first deer hunt is a story I will have to tell some day. It's quite a tale and all true. I have a pioneer heritage that shows up in Quest for Love, along with my mother's horses, Lady and Slippers, and my father's horse, Smokey.
Like Kiley in Where There's a Will, my first Pap smear was done in the dark, with a flashlight, because the power went off and the doctor was afraid he wouldn't get me back in. I had chickened out, left, and came back. It's okay, you can laugh at me if you want. Lastly, I will tell you here, the beginning of Terriea was written when I sat up all night with my mother a couple of days before she died of cancer. Like Terriea's grandmother, my mother taught me well. She was a great lady. I have dedicated Terriea to her, and if it's ever published, the proceeds will go to cancer research. It's a promise I made to myself back then and I will keep.
