After the last year and the struggles I've ran into while trying to write and publish I've decided to start a new category. Roughing it out. The troubles and thoughts of things I've been facing, that might be some of the same challenges you run up against. I don't know if anything that works for me will help you, but I hope so. The biggest thing I can think of right now - Is just to keep on working at it.
Don't give up!
Even if it's a little a day, keep going.
You will never reach you goals if you don't try.

I takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.
No more just wishing. Set your goal, plan and make it happen!

Beauty and the Chief

Picture
This fairy tale gets mixed up. When the Beast can’t get women to love him, he kills them. Beauty, interior designer Jillian Taylor, becomes his next intended victim when, while running with her dog, she interrupts his ritual killing. Jillian catches the eye of another suitor, Police Chief Mark Richards, a man of honor, raising his son alone after being abandoned by a wife who loves show and status more than them. When Mark sees the truly good woman, under what he is afraid is all glamour, love begins to grow. The real question is will Mark be able to save Beauty from the Beast to make his own happily ever after come true?

A plotter lays the story all out. Where a pantser just sits down and writes letting it come out as will, writes by the seat of their pants. I'm a combination of both. I do start with an outline but it is very brief, one to two pages. I know my end scene and quite a few key scenes that have to happen to get to that point. I don't have them all because some things fall in along the way.

I think even pantsers need some outline. A framing for what they are building. We might not know what each floor will look like but we have to have structure around to support it. Without that, you maybe be doing a lot of backtracking, rearranging, cutting, and throwing away. And that's sad. I know I don't have a lot of writing time to waste it on writing scenes that I can't use. That doesn't mean it won't happen, everyone has to cut, but with a little forethought, hopefully it won't happen often.
